Camp Curiosity 2017

Great Lakes Science Center is introducing a brand new take on camp programs for the 2017-2018 school year – Camp Curiosity! All year long we’ve been encouraging our visitors to stay curious, and now we’re applying that inquisitive spirit to our day camps, starting with this coming season’s winter break sessions. Beginning December 21, we have seven different themes over nine days for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade to choose from! All camps are separated by age, and curriculum content is tailored to the age group. Your camper can choose one day of adventure or multiple days for a STEM filled journey during their winter school break. School break camps are $55 per day ($50 for members) and run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an option for an extended day from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee. Registration is available online at GreatScience.com or by calling 216-621-2400.

Everyday Engineer
Friday, December 29, 2017
Become an engineer for the day! We’ll learn about the design process and use it to construct structures of varying sizes. We’ll investigate bridges, illuminate a light sculpture, design an airplane, create a city and more! We’ll also watch “Dream Big,” a new documentary on the giant screen in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater.

Robots
Tuesday, January 2, 2018
Design and create your own robots using sensors, motors and switches in your ‘bot creation classroom. Expand your imagination, build teamwork skills and complete challenges to help our community using your robot creations. And of course, have a chance to battle your ‘bots, “sumo-style!”

Outer Space
Wednesday, January 3, 2018
Explore all things space in our NASA Glenn Visitor Center!
