The second phase of Build It!, Explore It! is a nine day brick festival running from May 27 through June 4 featuring workshops, opportunities to meet LEGO experts, hand-selected sculptures from some of the best LEGO artists in the country and a few LEGO related surprises!

Exhibition opens early at 11 a.m. for MEMBERS ONLY!
Meet  7 different Lego artists from around the country and view their amazing sculptures before we open our doors to the general public!

Featured artists include:

  • Paul Janssen from Columbus, Ohio. Paul is known for his 1,000,000 Lego model of the Ohio State Buckeyes Stadium. Stop by to see the debut of his newest creation!
  • Lia Chan from Fort Worth, Texas is bringing four of her NASA replicas including a simulation of the final shuttle launch of STS-135.
  • Visit Matt De Lanoy’s 110”X 50” model of the Simpsons’ Springfield to see all of your favorite characters.
  • See Tom Atkison’s  awe-inspiring “Great Ball Contraption” at work. Click here  to learn about Tom’s creation from Brickworld Indy 2017.

June 4

Exhibition opens early at 11 a.m. for MEMBERS ONLY!
Meet 7 local members of the Northeast Ohio Lego User Group (NEOLUG) and their Lego sculptures before we open our doors to the general public!

Featured artists include:

  • Adrian Drake, known for his seven-foot long model of the spaceship “Serenity” from the cult-classic TV show “Firefly”. Adrian will also present models of Winnie the Pooh and a six-foot tall replica of Bender from “Futurama”
  • John Stephens has built a micropolis filled with Cleveland landmarks such as  Great Lakes Science Center, West Side Market and Tower city.
  • Wayne Peltz brings with him life-like Lego mosaics of popular Cleveland Indians players Terry Francona and Francisco Lindor as well as the Indians logo.
  • Welcome Wilbert Mckinley’s Teach Fleet from Maryland and build your own mini ship replicas while learning about the STEM behind the real life versions.

Join us for a member only event showcasing phase three of Build It! Open from June 17 through September 4, Move It! will feature selected sculptures from Explore It! as well as interactive simple machine exhibits developed by Lego expert, Adam Ward. As part of the preview, Adam will be making a special guest appearance in the Cleveland Clinic Dome Theater at 6:00 and 6:45. Please select the time that best fits your schedule when making your reservation. This event is free for members and special programming and refreshments are included.  Space is limited; please call 216-621-2400 to register.

About Adam Ward:

You may first recognize Adam as the host of the popular show “Brick x Brick” via the Soulpancake YouTube channel. Based in Los Angeles, Adam has truly made the old adage “do what you love” into reality during his career as a Lego artist. His work has been featured in several well known publications such as Dwell and and he is currently working on collaborations with Nestle and Microsoft. Learn more about Adam Ward here:

Become a stage manager, artist, engineer and playwright in this awesome production! Build a miniature theater set, complete with working LEDs, and film your own play using stop-motion animation! This workshop will be led by stop-motion expert Michael Hickox!
